'Wonder Woman' Gal Gadot's Commented On UN Ambassador Issue
The signed petition claims that a white woman with large breasts and unbelievable proportions, wearing scantily, shimmering, thigh-baring suit and knee-high boots should not be considered as a representative for gender equality at the UN.
As reported by New York Times, the high official of UN had been privately expressing their concern for picking Wonder Woman. In public, the UN leaders relayed a message that their choice is for reaching out the younger groups. The honor is in lieu with the release of Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman" in 2017.
Female advocates in and out of UN think that picking Wonder Woman is wrong timing since UN had rejected seven women candidates who were vying for the post of secretary general. Portugal's Antonio Guterres was chosen instead.
Because of the controversy, UN had chosen to just revoke the honor given to the 75-year old comic book heroine, Wonder Woman. For Gadot, she believes that there are more relevant issues to discuss and fight for than arguing about the hemline of her DC-based movie character.
E! News reported that Gadot said if Wonder Woman is strong and smart then she can't be sexy. The actress expressed that it's not fair and said, "Why she can't be all of the above."
