The classic Disney movie duet, "Beauty and the Beast," is now having a new version from the collaboration of John Legend and Ariana Grande. The news was announced by Disney on January 11.
According to ABC News, Disney announced that the two singers have already recorded the latest version of the classic Disney hit, "Beauty and the Beast." The song is part of the upcoming Emma Watson's live-action movie of the same title.
Ron Fair, the producer of the new "Beauty and the Beast
" song, has released a statement on the challenge of creating a fresh version of the song. He shared that bringing the Grammy and Oscar award winning song is a big challenge. But, choosing the present generation's great singers, namely Ariana Grande and John Legend, is the best way to provide a soulful and powerful song. He shared that the song is a "great melody and lyric" and that it "can inspire."
The original "Beauty and the Beast" was heard in 1991 for the animated Disney movie
. It was a duet of Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson. The song was a success at that time where it earned the "Best Original Song from a Motion Picture" in Oscar and Golden Globe Awards. It also won two Grammys.
