After all the rumors that "The Originals" Season 4 will never be seen on TV, CW has confirmed and made sure that the spinoff series of "The Vampire Diaries" will premiere on March 17, 2017 at 8PM ET. The date is a week after its original series will bid goodbye on air.
"The Originals" Season 4 premiere date has been published on CW's schedule since November 16, 2016. According to ReleaseDate, CW ordered for13 episodes for the upcoming season.
Prior the Season 4 announcement, there have been rumors that "The Originals" will be canceled as it lost about 30% of its audience. In its Season 3 premiere, it has an estimated 0.89 million viewers and its series finale managed to attract 0.847 million viewers. Compare to Season 2, the series has about 1.31 total number of viewers.
Based on the latest spoilers shared by University Herald, Alaric (Matthew Davis) is set to appear on Season 4 of "The Originals." It's unclear if it will be a brief appearance or several episodes.From previous seasons, other "The Vampire Diaries" characters have made a crossover to the series.
Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) helped out Klaus in one of the episodes of "The Originals." While Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) had to suffer from Klaus after an attempt to kill the werewolf mama, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin).
There are rumors that "The Originals" Season 4 will be visited by the female casts of "The Vampire Diaries." Nina Dobrev will be joining them as Tatia, a Petrova doppelganger
. Candice King, who plays Caroline Forbes, will also show up to help Klaus get healed from the "Tunde Blade," which is planted in his chest.
